frequently asked questions

What is our de-matting policy?
Matting can be extremely painful and dangerous for your pet! We always advise that pet parents brush their furry friends daily to avoid this awful condition. We are happy to de-mat small areas manually, but if your animal is heavily matted, we will contact you. Once you have signed our waiver, and are aware that shaving is the only recourse, we are happy to remove the mats. This service will result in additional charges.
Which vaccinations do we require your pets have?
We've consulted with veterinarian customers who have advised us that vaccinations will help keep animals safe. We're kind of obsessed with keeping animals safe, so we do require the following:
For cats: Rabies and Distemper
For dogs: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella
PS: You can usually call your veterinarian and ask for your pets' vaccinations to be emailed to us at hello@theroyaltier.com
Do we express anal glands?
We do not. This is a service that should be done by a veterinarian.
Do we groom animals with lice, fleas, ticks or parasites?
In order to ensure the safety of all our furry clients and staff, we will not perform any services on an animal infected by lice, fleas, ticks, or parasites. Refer to our Terms of Service for more information.
Do we offer permanent adornments (glued bows, colored dyes, etc.)?
No, we do not offer these services, as small items (bows/pearls) may become a choking hazard and may rip animals' fur if caught/scratched at. Likewise, we do not offer colored dyes as there is veterinary debate on whether this provides any benefit, and could in fact be detrimental to the animal.
